NBU Welcomes Gaines to Board of Directors
North Baldwin Utilities (NBU) welcomes Richard I. Gaines to the NBU Board of Directors.
Retired from the Naval Reserves, Gaines has over 27 years of experience working with utilities. A Stapleton resident and strong believer in community services, Gaines has served as Chairman of the Board at Stapleton United Methodist Church and as a Scoutmaster for the Stapleton Boy Scouts.
When asked why he wishes to serve on the NBU Board of Directors, Gaines replied, “I have tried to instill in my children to do a few things: Do no harm, serve your country, serve your community and serve God. I still feel I need to serve the community more so than I have done thus far.”
Gaines is replacing Board Member Mack Byrd whose term will expire Feb. 28. Gaines joins current Board Members Pete Pedersen, Bill Godbey, Ben Bailey and Mayor Jamie Tillery.
