NBU joined Baldwin EMC and Riviera Utilities for the Career Exposure Event at Baldwin County High School on Tuesday, April 8. The event gave junior and senior students a chance to learn more about the many career paths available in the utility industry—from field operations to technical services and beyond.
The event featured 15-minute rotations where students visited each utility’s area in small groups. In addition to informational displays and one-on-one conversations, students explored service trucks and equipment staged nearby in the grassy area. This hands-on element helped bring the industry to life and allowed students to ask questions about the tools and technology involved.
While lineman jobs are commonly known, this event helped shed light on lesser-known but critical roles in water, gas, and wastewater services. For students considering internships, immediate employment, or just weighing their options after graduation, the event offered practical insight and real-world examples.
We’re proud to support efforts that connect students with meaningful careers and help them see the potential that exists right in their own backyard.
